Vegas Golden Knights William Karlsson and Tomas Hertl each scored two goals to help their team come from behind and secure another Father’s Trip win.

The Golden Knights defeated the Utah Hockey Club, 4-2, Friday, Nov. 15, from the Delta Center. With the win, they improved their record to 11-4-2.

It was the second of three meetings between these teams. Vegas won the first meeting at home 4-3 in overtime on Nov. 2. They will play each other one last time this regular season on Nov. 30 at the T-Mobile Arena.

Friday night’s game was the second of a two-game road trip after beating the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday and are now 3-3-2 on the road this season.

The fathers, uncles, and father-in-laws of the players also continued their annual Father’s Trip in Utah on Friday. Prior to the game, the dads visited the Utah Olympic Park. After completing their comeback win, the Golden Knights are now 11-0-1 all-time in Father’s Trip games.

Vegas improved their lead for first place in the Pacific Division and now sit three points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.

The Knights will now head back home to take on the Washington Capitals on Sunday, Nov. 17. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. at The Fortress.

With just over a minute left in the game and the score tied, Karlsson scored the game-winning goal off assists from right-wing Cole Schwindt and defenseman Kaedan Korczak.

Schwindt’s assist on the game-winning goal increased his season total to five. It capped off a special week for him and his uncle, who came as his representative on the Father’s Trip with his father having sadly passed away in 2021.

Korczak recorded his third assist of the season on Karlsson’s game-winning goal.

Less than a minute later, Karlsson scored another goal on an empty net to secure the comeback victory.

Before Karlsson’s goals, VGK made sure to execute on their power play opportunities to kickstart their comeback.

Hertl cashed in his two goals on power play opportunities off assists from Karlsson and centers Jack Eichel and Nicolas Roy in the second and third periods.

Hertl’s two goals added to his season total of five.

Roy recorded his seventh assists of the season on one of Hertl’s power play goals.

Eichel assisted on both of Hertl’s goals and now has 22 assists on the season.

Karlsson had the biggest night for the Golden Knights with three points, bringing his season total to six.

At the final buzzer, Vegas went 2-for-3 on power play opportunities and only allowed Utah to go 1-for-4 on its attempts.

The Knights started the game cold and found themselves trailing early in the first period for the third straight game. Fortunately, the offense woke up in the second period and scored four unanswered goals to get the comeback victory.

Goalie Adin Hill started his sixth straight game between the pipes and finished with 31 saves despite the rough start. His performance resulted in a .941 save percentage and improved his record to 8-3-1 on the season.
